Youth Hockey League
Klamath Ice Sports offers recreational youth hockey programs for ages five through seventeen under the direction of Derek Martin, our Director of Adult and Youth Hockey, and his group of talented volunteer coaches. The season begins in November and goes through the beginning of March each year.
Players new to the game of hockey are welcome; they begin with our Learn to Skate and Play Hockey class…upon graduation from the class the new players are placed on the appropriate age level team. At the junior high and high school level, try outs take place at the beginning of each season for the Klamath Falls Ice Hawks, the varsity team, led by coaches Brian Mc Carty and Charlie Erdman. Players who make the Ice Hawk team will play against teams in the Southern Oregon Conference.
In person registration and equipment fitting for those who will be renting or borrowing our equipment will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Players are invited to stop by the arena to complete any necessary paperwork and pay their fees in person. We will also host an equipment swap that day – if you have some well loved equipment to sell or swap, bring it with you.
