Klamath Ice Sports Hockey has received a “Bob Freeland Growth and Player Development Grant” that will enable us to continue our floor hockey program in the elementary schools this coming fall. Thank you USA Hockey and the Pacific District!
Klamath Ice Sports (KIS) and Bill Collier Community Ice Arena (BCCIA) will be playing floor hockey with local elementary school students in the fall proceeding each ice skating season. The BCCIA Director of Youth Hockey, Derek Martin, and the Assistant Executive Director/Atom-Mite Coach, Brent Mc Carty, will take this program to the schools and introduce the students and staff to floor hockey. The goal of this program is to increase physical activity levels and engender enthusiasm for participation in our Learn to Skate and Play(LTS/Play) Ice Hockey classes which will be offered in the fall and winter. The LTS/Play classes are a prerequisite for participation in our house league and help GROW THE GAME for KIS, the BCCIA and the Klamath Basin.
