The Olympic sport of Curling made its debut in Klamath Falls at the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena today. About one hundred future curlers of all ages attended and not only viewed a curling demonstration, but got to curl themselves. Everybody had fun and we were told that we have the perfect ice for curling, too!
Will curling return to Klamath Falls? We hope so! Arnie Iwanick, the President of the Evergreen Curling Club is looking for some used ’rocks’ that we might be able to purchase at a discount. It looks as though there are no rocks to borrow, so we need to come up with the proper funding to begin hosting weekly curling sessions. Donations are currently being accepted to fund the the purchase of curling equipment.
We are looking for a set of used curling stones to purchase. If you know of an individual or business who might be able to donate and help us get our curling program off the ground, please contact us.
