Adult Hockey League

Adult Hockey – 2011/12 Season

Klamath Ice Sports and the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena are in the process of rebuilding our Adult Hockey League.  During this transition period we will host two weekly drop-in adult hockey sessions this fall, on Sunday and Tuesday evenings.  After that time we will re-evaluate.  Drop-in hockey is no check and prior registration with ISI or USA Hockey is strongly encouraged (KIS and the BCCIA do not otherwise provide sport’s accident coverage in the event you are injured participating in skating related activities).  Adults and high school aged youth are eligible to attend our drop-in sessions; goalies when they play in the goal (maximum of two per session) are admitted free.  Full equipment is required; we have equipment available to rent while the supply lasts.  Drop-in sessions are $15 each; multi-session punch cards are available.

We will also host a ‘Stick Time’ session on Wednesday evenings this fall for ages eight and older; 1/2 ice for ages eight through twelve and 1/2 ice for ages thirteen through adult.  This session will be ‘no raise’.  Full equipment is required for youth (ages eight through seventeen) and helmet/gloves are required for for ages eighteen and older (full equipment is recommended).  ISI or USA Hockey registration is strongly encouraged.  Stick time is $8 per session.

We will provide an environment of fun, education, camaraderie and exercise. Would you like to get some exercise and have some fun in an awesome outdoor setting? If your answer is yes, then you should come out and play the COOLEST game on Earth….ice hockey.  Charlie Erdman serves as our Director of Adult Hockey.

How to Sign Up

To be eligible for the 2010/11 draft, all players need to sign up and pay their fees by 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 6, 2010.

Register with the ISI here.

Team captains, under the direction of Derek Martin, will put together teams based upon skater abilities. KIS will host one AHL game on Sunday evenings and one game on Thursday evenings; some weeks your team will have two games and other weeks your team will have one game. Referees have been added back into the mix; all players will owe their team captain money to cover the cost of the officials (the total amount has yet to be determined).

Players who plan to join the league for the second half of the season should contact the arena for information about team placement.

How to Become a Hockey Official

If you would like to certify or re-certify as a hockey referee, you can access the Pacific District Official Seminar dates/times by accessing the Pacific District Officials Website. Though not selected as a host for a 2010/11 official training seminar, KIS will be hosting a seminar at the beginning of our 2011/12 season.
