Why do residents of the Klamath Basin enjoy the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena?
Following the end of each ice skating season, we are often asked, “Where’s the ice?” The ice has, of course, slowly melted away after the compressors have been turned off and we explain that the ice will return in November just before ice skating activities resume. To make certain that the ice will return, KIS has recently launched its second annual operating fund campaign to raise a minimum of $25,000 each season in order to maintain affordable admission prices for the children and families of the Klamath Basin.
As of September 5, 1011, $4,280 has been raised towards our $25,000 minimum goal.
If you would like to make a donation to keep our ice coming back each fall, please read more about our ice arena and print a donor card:

Why Residents of the Klamath Basin Enjoy the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena
I would rather play hockey than do anything else. I wait the entire year for November to come around, for the ice rink to open and for hockey to start.

I love the sport of figure skating. Everything looks so magical when you see it performed. When you try something new on the ice, you realize how technical and athletic a sport this is and the challenge really keeps me coming back for more.

As parents of athletes we are involved with local youth sports programs year round. However, there is something special about Klamath Falls hockey and the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena. The staff, coaches, athletes and parents all work very hard together towards a common goal: growing a competitive hockey program while having fun at the same time. This goal is achieved every season. Klamath Falls is becoming a force in the Oregon hockey community. It is very exciting to be part of that. Thank you Klamath Ice Sports for brining the Coolest Game On Earth to our kids.
With pride and appreciation,
Russ and Jody Carter
The winter ice show is absolutely impressive. I love the combination of local, competitive and professional talent. It is an amazing opportunity for our kids to work with professionals and see what hard work and dedication can lead to.

As a parent, there has been no greater joy than watching my children find something that they love and are truly passionate about. For my two sons, ages 11 and 6, hockey is their passion. I feel very fortunate that they have had the opportunity to pursue something that brings them so much happiness. I hope that as a community we can continue to Support the ice rink and, in turn, support the youth of Klamath Falls.
Wendy, Hockey Mom
I love the ice arena because of the disco ball, Disney skate and funky music.

We advertise at the ice rink because parents who spend quality time with their kids are exactly the kind of customers we want.

As a sponsor, we feel honored to support the ice rink and help promote expanding recreational opportunities here in Klamath Falls. We feel the rink has provided an excellent opportunity for the people of the area and hope as a community we can continue the support of the facility and continue to expand and promote physical activity and health for people of the Klamath Basin.

I love hockey for all the fast action. I love how it is hard and not very popular, like football. I love playing goalie and blocking shots. I love going against harder teams. Also, my coach always has fun drills and games. Everybody can play hockey with a little practice.
Shane, age 10
As both a coach and sponsor of Klamath Ice Sports and the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena, I can honestly say out partnership has been a blessing. Working with the kids over the past three years has been such a wonderful learning experience. The passion these kids have for the sport and the willingness to learn and get better has been incredible. For most of my players’ hockey careers, they have been playing larger teams with more experience, but I’m here to tell you that these kids never back down and never give up. As a sponsor of the program and the rink, that’s the kind of team and organization Cascade Auto Group is proud to stand behind. With the continued support from out community, I’m looking forward to many great years to come.
Coach Tyler Thompson, Cascade Auto Group
I have been involved in teaching figure skating at the ice arena since it first opened in 2002. As people know, I am passionate about the sport (or art) of figure skating and I truly enjoy sharing that passion with others. I love the speed and the flow and the sense of freedom that figure skating provides as I am constantly challenged to improve my basic skating skills in order to learn how to teach those skills to others more effectively. Figure skating is not only a challenging athletic discipline, it’s a true artistic endeavor. Having a facility such as the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena is a unique and important asset to our community.
